Swan, the emerging European leader in embedded finance, today announces its strategic partnership with Lucca, the HR and finance software platform used by 1.3 million users across 112 countries. Swan’s Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) technology is already allowing Lucca to enhance its expense management offering, improving the user experience by driving out inefficiencies through embedded finance automation.

Transforming expense management with embedded payment methods

Unlike competitors, Lucca ensures payment methods are included in its subscription at no extra cost, viewing this integration as essential for efficient expense management. "This embedded finance feature has propelled Lucca into fintech territory, making our HR and financial solutions even more powerful and user-friendly. We anticipate reaching 10% of our equipped users and having over 5,000 cards in circulation within a year," said Mathilde Fossat, Cleemy Payment Product Manager at Lucca."We are reimagining our user experience centered around these cards and expect to see 30% of our customers equipped within just two years."

Supporting Lucca’s banking leap

This partnership comes on the heels of Swan's recent announcement of a €37 million Series B investment round. The capital raise, led by Lakestar with reinvestment from existing investors, underscores the market's confidence in Swan’s BaaS technology as it expands across Europe. With this funding, Swan aims to broaden its product offerings, including introducing new payment collection methods and integrated lending options. This strengthens Swan's stature as a robust tech and banking ally, ensuring that partners like Lucca can further elevate its product innovations in the forthcoming years.

Swan's CEO, Nicolas Benady, commented:”The HR sector is ripe for innovation with banking features. While leading a previous company, I felt firsthand the weight and complexity of financial processes with the potential to be smoothed out: payroll, expenses, etc. This partnership with Lucca feels like coming full circle — an established HR and financial software now embedding banking to build the software of the future. And our collaboration illustrates that embedded banking isn’t just for financial apps. Companies of all sorts can enhance their user experiences, and they’re poised to unlock new revenue streams at the same time.”*
