Computop,  a leading global payment processor, today announced that its  highly secure card terminals are  available with the EFTPOS integration interface, Pepper, from the Swiss software service provider treibauf. The Computop card readers can now be accessed via this interface by almost 100 common POS systems.

Pepper acts as a translator between the  POS system protocol and individual enhancements of the OPI-DE standard, the language of card terminals. The connection of the card readers via the Computop terminal server enables retailers to significantly reduce their maintenance costs as  remote maintenance of the devices can be carried out without on-site service. In addition, it ensures the use of a uniform terminal type in all geographies.

"The integration of Pepper makes it easier for retailers to choose Computop's PCI P2PE-certified terminals when upgrading," says Stephan Kück, CEO of Computop. "The connection to the Omnichannel platform Computop Paygate will enable them to merge their payments with e-commerce transactions to create a customer-friendly sales process across all channels.”
