Chip & PIN Solutions, a leading UK based terminal provider with over 10 years’ experience within the payment industry, has chosen TNS’ Global Wireless Access (GWA) Roaming SIM and MIS solutions to boost its future growth.

The company, established in 2004, supplies thousands of mobile card payment terminals to a broad range of businesses, from sole traders to blue chip companies, with an impressive existing customer base including Virgin Trains, Pimlico Plumbers and Weight Watchers.

TNS will provide Chip & PIN Solutions with managed wireless connectivity to over 10,000 mobile POS terminals, with all transactions carried over the TNS PCI DSS certified payments network for delivery to the acquirers. TNS will also provide Chip & PIN Solutions and its merchants with real-time transaction reporting and data analytics, enabling detailed insights into merchant and POS activity across its customers.

Robert Murphy, Head of Logistics & Customer Service at Chip & PIN Solutions, said: “We chose to partner with TNS for a number of reasons. One of our unique selling points with mobile card machines was being able to obtain connectivity anywhere in the country, however, we found the strength of individual networks varied in different locations. With TNS’ Global Wireless Access solution we are able to satisfy our customer needs by allowing our mobile card machines to connect to the strongest network in the area, resulting in an improved customer experience and greater satisfaction.”

TNS’ GWA solution has been designed specifically for payment terminals, avoiding many of the common weaknesses in traditional one-size-fits-all m2m roaming solutions which make them sub-optimal for use in payments. By applying TNS’ expertise in high availability payment networks to wireless, GWA is able to offer an industry-leading standard of service for merchants using mobile payment terminals.

Mr Murphy added: “TNS’ Merchant MIS back office reporting provides us with an invaluable management information tool that enables our customers with multiple terminals to view live reporting of transactions that are taking place in the field. With all this functionality, we were expecting a high price to pay, however, we were pleasantly surprised at how economical the GWA and MIS solution is and we have actually saved money on our existing solution.”

Lisa Shipley, EVP and Managing Director at TNS, explained: “TNS offers an end to end managed service from terminal to acquirer, allowing for simplified procurement. This allows TNS to provide simplified billing and reporting. With over 400 payment end points, 24x7x365 support and being a Level 1 PCI DSS certified provider, our customers can rest easy that their merchants are in good hands.”

Chip & PIN Solutions is officially licensed by MasterCard and Visa and is PCI DSS certified. It is renowned for being a one stop shop for many businesses due to supplying everything from countertop terminals and mobile Chip and PIN card machines to contactless payment and portable terminals.

TNS is a trusted payment solutions provider with over 20 years of expertise within the industry. Its services are currently delivered to over 60 countries across Europe, the Americas and the Asia Pacific regions.
