Payments innovator allpay has cemented its position as one of the UK’s leading prepaid specialists after scooping awards for programme management and card design at this year’s Prepaid365 industry awards.

An independent panel of industry professionals named allpay Best B2B Prepaid Card Provider in the Large Programmes category, while its role in manufacturing PSI-Pay’s eye-catching ecoCard caught the public’s imagination, scooping Best Prepaid Card Design. The company was also highly commended for its prepaid citizen card collaboration with Bracknell Forest Council, finishing runner up in the Prepaid Innovation category.

This year’s awards received 157 entries across 30 categories, with more than 1 million members of the public casting their votes in the consumer categories.

In the consumer categories, the environmentally-friendly ecoCard attracted 70% of the public vote, while allpay’s collaboration with Bracknell Forest Council on the e+ Citizen Card was lauded for having ”enhanced consumer experience.”

Now running prepaid programmes and manufacturing cards for some of the UK’s biggest banks, charities, local and central government departments, allpay offers organisations a complete and customised prepaid platform.

Kevin McAdam, Prepaid Director at allpay, said: "Being recognised by the Prepaid365 Awards cements allpay's position as one of the UK's leading prepaid card suppliers.”

On being awarded Best B2B Prepaid Card Provider, McAdam said local authorities had a very tight timescale from government to implement new emergency payment schemes, and allpay “was delighted to be able to develop a solution that has not only reduced administration and cash handling costs, but has accelerated the provision of funds to those in financial crisis.”

He added: "Additionally, the new platform we are currently implementing across local authorities and clinical commissioning groups across the UK adds further cutting edge functionality, providing service users with bank account lite features, allowing them to receive their salaries and care payments onto their prepaid card and make bill payments via direct debits and bank transfers.

Amit Sharma, CEO and Senior Prepaid Consultant at Prepaid365, said: “allpay has pioneered the use of prepaid cards across the private and public sectors, delivering disbursement solutions to local authorities, housing associations, charities and banks with more than 30 local authorities coming on board over the last 12 months alone to benefit from these solutions. With numerous award nominations and wins from those resulting programmes, this recognition from the judges is well deserved.”
