Hong Kong) AlipayHK announced today that it will launch cross-border payment services in the Greater Bay Area and Japan, offering Hong Kong travellers smart, cashless payment experiences in some of their most frequented destinations.

Starting from March, AlipayHK users will be able to make payments at some stores that already accept Alipay in mainland cities in the Greater Bay Area. The application covers a variety of user cases, from shopping malls and convenience stores to adventure parks and hotels. In addition, AlipayHK has also been adopted by the Daimaru Tenjin store in Fukuoka, taking the initial step toward offering Hongkongers seamless payment experiences in one of their favourite vacation destinations.

 “We hope that more and more Hong Kong travellers would use the AlipayHK e-wallet on their vacations, sparing them the hassle of currency exchange and extending them the same convenient and smart payment experiences as they already do in the city.
