ACI Worldwide (NASDAQ: ACIW), a leading global provider of electronic payment and banking solutions, today announced it has been recognised as a ‘Market Leader’ by Ovum, an independent research firm, in its recent report Ovum Decision Matrix: Selecting a Card Management System Platform, 2015–2016.

According to the report, the Market Leader category represents leading solutions that are “worthy of a place on most technology-selection shortlists and includes vendors that have established a commanding market position with a product that is widely accepted as best-of-breed.” ACI’s leadership position comes from the strength of its technology architecture, integration options, flexible functionality and execution capability.

This accolade comes on the back of a Celent report released earlier in the year, which also positions ACI as a ‘Global Leader’ in the provisioning of packaged software in the Card Management space. As noted in that report, “ACI is the largest pure software company, with cards and retail payments software being at the heart of its offerings.”

“Financial service providers, both old and new, are in a race to capture new market share and stay ahead of increasing cross-border competition,” said Nick Barnes, senior vice president and product line manager, ACI Worldwide. “More and more, these financial institutions want to purchase end-to-end highly available and scalable solutions from a single vendor, which is why they’re turning to ACI."

ACI's Card & Merchant Management platform is part of a broader Universal Payments family of solutions, which includes BASE24, BASE24-eps, Postilion and PRM products. ACI’s solutions focus on enabling any-to-any, real-time payments, with strong integration and coordination capabilities, empowering customers to get to market faster, driving faster ROI and delivering improved profitability.
