Zimpler, a leading fintech company born in Sweden, has– with immediate effect–appointed Katarina Bonde as their new chair of the board, and Nicolas Köllerstedt as Chief Growth Officer. Bonde will replace Peo Nilsson, who will remain on as a board member.
Katarina Bonde brings over 20 years of experience holding board positions for scale-up companies. She is currently on the board of several successful businesses, including a SaaS company, Mentimeter, and software company NEPA. At Zimpler, Bonde will focus on continuing the company’s sustainable growth and expanding it into new segments and markets.
Nicolas Köllerstedt who will lead the newly created growth department has spent more than 20 years working for technology companies, most recently at Artificial Solutions where he was Chief Revenue Officer. Prior, he was the Head of the Nordic and Baltic regions at Snowflake Computing. Köllerstedt will primarily focus on setting Zimpler’s commercial and global strategy and drive further growth across the organisation.
Bonde and Köllerstedt join Zimpler at an exciting time, following the company’s recent expansion to Norway and the funding round. Furthermore, Zimpler reported a 134% yearly increase in revenue and has just passed 200 employees. They are currently planning to expand further with new products in new regions.
Chair of the Board Katarina Bonde, said: “Zimpler is an impressive company with enormous potential, as evidenced by their strong results in recent years. The payments landscape is currently going through an evolution, and I look forward to being part of this exciting journey ahead, with Zimpler. I believe that the experience I bring will make the company’s transition from start-up to scale-up frictionless.”
Chief Growth Officer Nicolas Köllerstedt, said: “I am very excited to be joining Zimpler at this stage of their global expansion. During my career, I had the pleasure of working with and growing several other scale-ups and I hope my experience will benefit the company greatly.”
CEO Johan Strand, said: “We are at the point where we need to expand into new markets, but also new segments, to meet our customer’s needs – something that requires us to focus on even more when continuing our growth. Peo Nilsson has done an incredible job as Chair of the Board, taking Zimpler from a start-up to a scale-up. Now it's time for the next step. We are confident with Katarina and Nicolas' expertise and experience we will continue to build an internationally successful company with a mission to simplify payments for people around the world.”
