Delta Capita, an international consultancy specialising in delivering business and technology solutions to financial services organisations, has announced the appointment of former Morgan Stanley Managing Director, Giles Kenwright, to head up its investment banking regulatory practice. Giles is based in Delta Capita’s London office.

In this role, Giles will be responsible for advising and assisting banks in meeting global regulatory requirements – including MiFID II, ring-fencing and the SEC’s Consolidated Audit Trail initiative. Giles brings a wealth of regulatory experience to Delta Capita. During his five years at Morgan Stanley, he was responsible for delivery of the firm’s regulatory platforms, which supported compliance with MiFID, Dodd Frank and EMIR amongst other global regulations.  He also has experience implementing Basel I and II at tier 1 banks.

As well as helping banks understand and comply with regulation, Giles is exploring opportunities for industry collaboration to share cost and expertise and provide utilities to perform certain shared services.

“The global regulatory burden banks now face is consuming unprecedented levels of cost, effort and management focus, at a time when penalties for non-compliance continue to rise,” said Giles. “The industry needs to work smarter to ensure regulatory compliance in a more effective manner.”

Joe Channer, CEO of Delta Capita, added: “From Dodd-Frank to MiFID, Giles has been at the forefront of recent regulatory change. His industry-renowned expertise coupled with a strong background in business process and technology makes him ideally placed to advise banks and establish utilities and managed services in this space.”
