Invstr, the award-winning investing app, has announced the launch of Invstr Academy, an interactive and gamified learning experience that enables total beginners to become confident investors.

For the first time, beginner investors can build investing knowledge through an intuitive mobile experience, custom-designed for the digital age. Accessed through the Invstr app, Invstr Academy features ten modules, each containing practical information about investing in easy-to-understand and relatable language.

A recent Investopedia survey of millennials with disposable income to invest, found that despite an appetite for investment, 60% of respondents lacked the knowledge to do so. Those who do feel knowledgeable are 5x more likely to feel confident about making financial decisions. Invstr Academy has been developed to bridge this gap and empower young investors to build their investing knowledge.

With 85 lessons in total, the syllabus provides a step-by-step education on how to get started with investing, understand financial markets and strategise effectively. The course has been developed by Invstr CEO, Kerim Derhalli, who brings insight from over 30 years of investment banking experience at some of the world’s largest firms.

In true Invstr fashion, the experience is engaging and interactive, with quizzes at the end of each module and in-game trophies awarded for progression, as well as an Academy Certificate upon graduation from the current syllabus. Additional lessons are planned to be added in future updates.

The launch of Invstr Academy builds upon Invstr’s growing reputation as the application that is leading the way in directly addressing the main obstacles to investing: lack of confidence, lack of knowledge and perceived lack of money.

Invstr enables users to build investing confidence by playing Fantasy Finance®, a virtual portfolio management game with cash prizes and start investing for real with as little as $1 using fractional investing, offered in partnership with DriveWealth LLC.

Users can now build investment knowledge through Invstr Academy, learn from peers through a full social network, and benefit from curated content and charting for 3,000 stocks, currencies, commodities, bonds and cryptocurrencies.

Invstr CEO Kerim Derhalli said:

“Investing is for everyone, but for too long its opportunity have been hidden behind a screen of misunderstanding and lack of investing confidence. As the Invstr experience has continued to evolve and grow, tackling the issue of investing education and demystifying what can be a complex subject matter has been a big priority for us. We want to lower the entry barrier for people who want to get into the markets and support a new generation of investors.

“Invstr Academy perfectly complements the learning experience we offer through Fantasy Finance and the Invstr Feed. It represents a major milestone in our goal to make it fun, easy and affordable for everyone to build confidence, knowledge and wealth from a young age and we can’t wait for our users to jump onboard.”

The first two modules of Invstr Academy can be accessed for free. Thereafter, Academy is part of Invstr Premium and users will pay the monthly subscription price of $3.99.
