Yonder, the UK debit and credit rewards cards, today launched integrated eSIM connectivity, completing its vision to consolidate all core travel needs - flights and hotel booking, no FX payments, travel insurance, and mobile data - into a single app with unified points earning.

The launch positions Yonder as a focused alternative to super-app approaches from brands such as Revolut, whose travel benefits sit alongside broader banking services.

The Fragmentation Problem

Most UK travellers currently need multiple tools for a single trip: one app for no-FX payments (Revolut or Wise), another for travel insurance (standalone policy or bank feature), a third for booking hotels and flights (e.g. Booking.com, Skyscanner, airline loyalty programmes), and a fourth for mobile data abroad (e.g. Airalo, Holafly, or expensive network roaming).

Yonder's integrated approach consolidates these into a single travel-first membership where every pound spent - from flight bookings to eSIM purchases to restaurant bills abroad - earns points redeemable on curated travel, dining, and lifestyle experiences.

End-to-end trip support

While Revolut and Nubank added eSIM functionality in 2024 as part of broader super-app strategies, Yonder's approach focuses heavily on travel. The startup’s integrated offering now includes:

  • Payments: No FX fees abroad, global card acceptance as a Mastercard

  • Rewards: Earn and redeem points on all travel spending

  • Booking: Hotels, flights and airport lounges through curated partners

  • Protection: Comprehensive worldwide family travel insurance (on paid membership)

  • Connectivity: Mobile data in 120+ countries from £2.50 for 1GB

Unlike competitors where travel features sit alongside crypto trading, stock investing and commodity purchases, Yonder’s entire product roadmap centres on travel use cases.

Travel-First Growth

Yonder members have spent £138m abroad since launching in 2022, saving more than £4m in foreign exchange fees. Travel-related spending now represents the largest category for the member base, with £21.28m spent on hotels, flights and travel experiences in the past 12 months alone.

Built-in eSIM connectivity, powered by 1Global, is available to all Yonder members (free and full memberships, debit and credit cards) from today across 120+ countries, with pricing starting at £3 for 1GB. Members can also earn up to 50 points per £1 spent on eSIM purchases, redeemable across Yonder’s network of 300+ travel, dining and lifestyle partners.

Tim Chong, Yonder’s CEO and co-founder said: “Trying to keep track of all the apps you need when you travel can be frustrating and expensive. We’ve spent years building towards a different model - one membership, one app, and a genuinely rewarding experience. The eSIM launch is a huge step closer to this vision. Whether you’re booking a hotel in Barcelona, paying for dinner without foreign exchange fees or buying data for the week, you can do it all in Yonder, while earning points that you actually look forward to spending. That’s what we mean by a rewarding travel membership.”
