Econocom and Microsoft signed a partnership to distribute Microsoft HoloLens in France, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Spain, Ireland, Italy and Luxembourg. This agreement represents an alliance between the best of Microsoft’s technology and Econocom’s distribution, services and financing experience and will boost widespread deployment of mixed reality for the digital transformation of companies and industries.

Reinventing business processes through mixed reality

Microsoft HoloLens is the first self-contained, holographic computer, enabling users to engage with their digital content and interact with holograms in the world around them. Since it was launched in 2015, Microsoft HoloLens has provided a new working environment for users with the possibility to deploy scenarios for a wide range of professions, both new ones and those that are undergoing a transformation: from remote assistance to training, maintenance to customer care, and creation to design. The global mixed reality market is expected to reach USD 6.86 billion by 2024, according to a report by Grand View Research.

Speeding up the adoption of HoloLens in Europe thanks to the partnership with Econocom

Microsoft and Econocom, who are longstanding partners, will thus be breaking into new European markets. Aside from its logistics and distribution know-how, Econocom was also chosen for its ability to offer financing solutions such as subscriptions or pay-per-use. This expertise will speed up HoloLens adoption, which was previously only available from the Microsoft Store, by offering companies turnkey solutions to match their needs and address their digital transformation challenges.

Econocom is also a member of the Mixed Reality Partner Program, along with development studios and systems integrators. As such, the group works with other members to develop personalised solutions all over Europe. New computer-assisted maintenance and training applications developed by Econocom are already being trialled by its clients for projects due to be launched in 2018.

“Mixed reality is still in its early stages but already it’s poised to revolutionise a number of uses in the professional world. Joining forces with Microsoft, who are precursors of this technology, will enable us to help our clients keep right up to date with these new uses,” said Bruno Grossi, Executive Director of Econocom Group.

“We’re thrilled to team up with Econocom, a historic Microsoft partner, who’ll be in charge of accelerating HoloLens distribution in Europe in response to a growing demand from customers looking to transform their organisation through innovation,” added Alain Bernard, Director of Microsoft France’s Division Partner Division.
