Startupbootcamp FinTech, the leading accelerator focused on financial innovation announced today that RailsBank, a startup founded by Nigel Verdon and Clive Mitchell, will be joining their 2016 London Cohort as Startup in Residence.

RailsBank is a global banking and compliance platform that gives FinTech companies access to global banking in five lines of code. RailsBank turbo-charges the scaling of FinTech companies by massively reducing the time and complexity of opening bank accounts; technically integrating with banks; and enables both parties to have a trusted compliance relationship.

Startupbootcamp FinTech announced its London 2016 Cohort on 2nd of August with the accelerator kicking off this week. Backed by financial leaders such as MasterCard, Lloyds Banking Group, PwC, Rabobank, Intesa Sanpaolo, arvato Financial Services, Route 66 and MJ Hudson; Startupbootcamp FinTech London offers its startups access to best in class expertise, mentors and a wide industry network amongst other benefits. The corporate partners work hands on with the startups during the program, gaining insight into the cutting edge of FinTech innovation, and exploring opportunities to innovate their business model outside of their legacy business. The connection and collaboration between the startups and established players is developed during an intense three month program via hands-on sessions with 400+ mentors and masterclasses on topics ranging from product development to investment and market validation.

By joining Startupbootcamp FinTech 2016 Cohort as ‘Startup in Residence’ RailsBank will be helping startups in the Cohort with their expertise in the industry and scaling RailsBank as a business to the next level through the benefits the program offers.

Nigel Verdon, Co-Founder & CEO of RailsBank comments "As the founder of Currency Cloud and a former Mentor on the SBC programme, I’m only too aware of the massive impact that good quality accelerator programmes can make for FinTech businesses. The entire RailsBank team are delighted to be participating in the SBC FinTech cohort as ’Startup in Residence’. An accelerator is a game-changing experience for any startup lucky enough to get on the program. You get to meet and work with brilliant people from across the industry. They provide you with tons of priceless feedback you wouldn’t get otherwise. It puts your company on a map and the network that you are building in the process and all the exposure you get is incalculable for business.”

Serial entrepreneur and finance veteran Verdon’s previous ventures include founding Currency Cloud, PayrNet, Evolution Consulting Group and RabbitFX.   Clive Mitchell’s previous ventures include founding PayrNet, Digital Change Partners and Morse Transaction Services.

Francisco Lorca, MD of Startupbootcamp FinTech London adds “We are very excited to have RailsBank in our 2016 London Cohort as ‘Startup in Residence’. I’m looking forward to working with Nigel, Clive and their team. Their knowledge and background in the industry will help our cohort to grow and while our program also helps RailsBank to develop as a company.”
