FinTech Connect 2022, Europe’s only dedicated fintech event for the entire ecosystem, is unveiling its inaugral fintech pitching competition in collaboration with FINTECH Circle, and the world premiere of documentary “FinTech For Good”, as the event celebrates the budding companies and innovations reshaping the fintech landscape.

And in what promises to be one of the most profound contributions to any fintech event in recent memory, FinTech Connect 2022 will host Alex Bornyakov, Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation for Ukraine, who will discuss “Digitisation During the War”, outlining how digital technologies have helped in Ukraine’s struggle in the wake of its invasion by Russia.

Now in its ninth year, and back in-person after two years of virtual meetings due to the Covid-19 pandemic, FinTech Connect 2022 is taking place between 30th November and 1st of December 2022, at the ExCel centre in London’s bustling docklands. Promising unrivalled market insights and unique networking opportunities in the fast-evolving fintech sector, this year’s event is set to welcome more than 3,000 attendees, who, over the course of two days, will hear from and meet the global fintech industry C-suite leaders and start-up innovators defining the course of the industry - and all under one roof.

With startups playing a vital role in the growth of the fintech ecosystem, and in conjunction with influential investor network, this year’s event incorporates the Startup Launch Pad stage, which takes place over the two days of the event. Featuring CEOs and founders from dynamic market entrants including Greenomy, Grape, and Fidentity, the Startup LaunchPad Stage will cover the industry, socio-economic and technological trends that will influence the direction of new companies in the fintech space. Topics to be covered include ESG objectives, fintech in humanitarian aid, and the future of data sharing.

On the 1st of December, the Startup LaunchPad Stage will host Alex Bornyakov, Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation for Ukraine, who will discuss “Digitisation During the War”, outlining how digital technologies have helped in Ukraine’s struggle in the wake of its invasion by Russia.

Taking place on the Startup LaunchPad Stage, FINTECH Circle, will host a pitching competition, featuring five dynamic startups that will showcase their game-changing propositions in front of a panel of esteemed angel investor judges. The companies pitching are:

·       FXGuard: A F/X Risk mitigation service

·       Seccl tech: a custodian and investment technology provider;

·       Unmai: “A better AI platform”;

·       Kyp.io: A “Know-your-Customer” risk intelligence platform;

·       21e6.io: a Swiss investment advisor, connecting professional investors with tailor-made crypto investment products.

Presented and moderated by Susanne Chisti, CEO of FINTECH Circle, each startup will have just five minutes to present their business, followed by a five-minute Q&A where they will be grilled by judges Carol Hagh, FTSE non-executive director at Chesnara, Michael Mellinghoff, Judge FINTECH Circle & Fintech Germany Award, Techfluence UK Ltd, and Brendan Bradley, Chairman, iPushPull.

Also being unveiled at FinTech Connect 2022 will be the world premiere of a ground-breaking documentary, “FinTech For Good”, produced by FINTECH Circle and ITN Business. Featuring contributions from Dan Andrews, Insurance Director at Vitesse, companies like Vitesse, Peter Michel Heilmann, CEO of Reltime, Antony Green, Chief Product Officer at Policy Expert, and Gilbert Verdian, Founder and CEO of Quant, the documentary will shine a spotlight on the industry innovations that are making positive changes to people’s lives.

Laurence Coldicott, Senior Content Director of Fintech Connect 2022, says: “FinTech Connect 2022 is the place to be for anyone who wants to know what the future holds for fintech. After the pandemic-induced move to online-only events for the past two years, we’re thrilled to welcome back attendees in person once again to experience the live buzz and bustle of Europe’s most dynamic and relevant fintech ecosystem event. We’re thrilled to host the FINTECH Circle Pitching Event, which promises to be a hugely enthralling pitching competition between some of the industry’s stand-out entrants demonstrating what a successful pitch looks like and what pressing questions angel investors will want to know

“This event is all about showing what fintech means for the people who interact with it, and the huge benefits innovation can bring to the global population. That’s why we’re honoured to host Alex Bornyakov, who, amid the crisis in Ukraine, can point to how fintech is helping the country during the ongoing conflict. We’re also delighted to host the world premiere of “FinTech For Good”, which will illustrate just how vital fintech solutions are in promoting financial inclusion and solving real-life challenges.”
