The Catalan Data Protection Authority is organising a panel of experts at the Mobile World Congress to promote ethical and human-friendly artificial intelligence based on the provisions of the AI Act and the General Data Protection Regulation. The APDCAT will have a permanent space to resolve doubts and advise the public and the emerging companies and entrepreneurs present.

The Catalan Data Protection Authority (APDCAT) participates from 3 to 6 March in a new edition of the Mobile World Congress, due to the potential of this international event to raise awareness among developers and start-ups of the need to implement measures that guarantee the protection of privacy, and respect for fundamental rights, from the very design of their products and services.

In this sense, on Tuesday 4 March at 12.35 pm, the APDCAT is organising the conference 'Artificial Intelligence Act and General Data Protection Regulation: implications for international cooperation and enforcement' at the Agora Stage, with the aim of analysing the development and application of digital policies related to artificial intelligence and the protection of personal data from a global perspective. The event will be attended by Lieven Brouwers, Head of Sector, Data Flows and Other International Aspects of the Digital Economy of the European Commission, and Meritxell Borràs i Solé, director of the APDCAT. The session will be moderated by Xavier Urios i Aparisi, head of the APDCAT's Legal Department.

On the other hand, the APDCAT will have a permanent space in Hall 8, easily accessible from the north entrance. It will host the InfoPrivacy Point, a consultation and advice point to resolve doubts in privacy matters, aimed at both the attending public and the participating organisations. It will be open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., by appointment that can be requested at the stand itself.

In addition, during all the days of the contest, the public will have the opportunity to measure their mastery of privacy by participating in a new edition of the Privacy Warrior Challenge contest.
