Stripe, a financial infrastructure platform for businesses, today announced that Stripe Billing has been named a Leader in The Forrester Wave™: Recurring Billing Solutions, Q1 2025. This marks Stripe Billing’s second designation as a “Leader” from an industry analyst firm in less than a year, following recognition from Gartner last summer.

Companies that recently switched to Stripe Billing include ForbesAMC Networks1Password, and Fender, the world’s largest guitar manufacturer.

Launched in 2018, Stripe Billing helps more than 300,000 businesses—including AtlassianStanTokyu, and AI companies such as OpenAIAnthropicPerplexity, and Midjourney—manage how they charge their customers. For most companies a billing system is distinct from their ability to accept payments but just as crucial: their billing system manages the intricacies of how much to charge, whom to charge, and when.

Stripe Billing allows businesses to orchestrate their overall financial logic, making it easy to set up billing plans, customize pricing logic, calculate amounts owed, preview upcoming invoices, apply discounts, send payment reminders, track payments, and much more. Stripe Billing supports a wide range of billing models including sales-based contracts, tiered pricing, and usage-based billing. It’s the easiest way to run a modern, global billing system.

“Stripe Billing is the secret weapon for any company with revenue, helping businesses of all sizes thrive,” said Jeff Titterton, chief marketing officer at Stripe.

The Forrester report notes, “the customers most satisfied by Stripe Billing are engineers. They delight in building out the product, and feel supported by great documentation, error messages, and API logs.” The report also states, “Along with the payment synergies, Stripe Billing’s architecture and reliability are its key strengths. Stripe Billing is a good fit for subscription companies with high volumes and developer-friendly cultures, especially if they are using (or plan to use) Stripe Payments.”

Stripe Billing is part of Stripe’s Revenue and Finance Automation suite, which helps businesses manage the entire revenue cycle—from invoices and billing to tax, revenue recognition, and reporting.
