Niu Solutions, the leading provider of IT consultancy and infrastructure services, has secured a contract with Mi-Pay, the digital e-commerce payments and security services specialist, to support the company’s international expansion.

The contract will see Niu Solutions deliver a PCI-compliant hybrid cloud solution incorporating IBM SoftLayer. The system will be based on an innovative pod architecture which has been designed and custom-built to support Mi-Pay’s global operations and allow it to build a presence in the Far East.

Niu Solutions used IBM SoftLayer to establish a highly resilient data centre for Mi-Pay to support its launch into Asia. A hybrid solution with comprehensive data replication between the UK and Asia, the solution will provide robust data governance and the highest level of PCI compliance available, which will support mobile payment processing in highly regulated regions such as Asia Pacific.

Shaun Ledgerwood, Chief Executive, Niu Solutions UK said:

“This is a significant contract win, and one that is testament to our extensive capabilities in developing world-class IT solutions. In particular, this project highlights our expertise in delivering effective change management, architecture governance and security services to businesses operating on a global scale.

“Mi-Pay required a flexible and secure platform that would support the constantly evolving mobile payments landscape, as well as a stringent need to protect data privacy.  Through our hybrid cloud solution with IBM SoftLayer, we were able to provide Mi-Pay with a cost-effective, robust and highly-compliant cloud infrastructure solution, which is completely unique to the marketplace.”

By adopting Niu Solutions’ cloud solution, Mi-Pay has been able to reduce the time and compliance burden of establishing a presence in a new region significantly, allowing it to focus on improvements to the customer experience as well as application enhancements. With the new solution in place, Mi-Pay can now implement changes in a matter of days and process mobile top-ups even faster, ensuring limited disruption to the customer experience.

John Beale, CFO, Mi-Pay said:

“The solution devised by Niu based on IBM SoftLayer is a secure, transparent and scalable platform which has delivered significant cost savings compared to implementing an additional local data centre.

“Niu is now an integral part of our solution and is crucial to supporting the protection of our client’s data 24x7 and our ongoing PCI compliance offering.  Their knowledge and expertise in taking full ownership for any infrastructure-related issues enables us to offer our customers peace of mind that their data is secure and complies with regulations underpinned with dual sited fail over stability. With Niu Solutions managing the infrastructure, Mi-Pay is free to focus its resources on the application itself to provide the best possible customer experience. It’s been a true business partnership that supports our corporate strategy and growth.”

This project is part of a wider growth story for Mi-Pay. The unrivalled security this cloud solution offers, ideally positions the company to onboard new customers and explore further expansion into key international markets, allowing it to rapidly deploy its services and roll out the solution to other global data centres across the world.
