Zelig is delighted to announce that it acted as sole financial advisor to Arex Markets on its sale to Bankable.

This transaction gives the combined company the ability to offer new Credit-as-a-Service functionalities to its customer base and to embed the provision of credit and working capital into the payment flows of established neobanks, multinational brands and fintech platforms.

As embedded finance platforms proliferate, the SME financing space continues to struggle with automated, cost-effective and flexible access to liquidity solutions, thereby adding frictions and cost to the provision of SME credit.

Going forward, Bankable will be able to provide working capital capabilities such as flexible invoice financing, corporate credit cards, lodged cards and revolving credit, augmenting its existing API-first embedded finance platform. Customers will have the ability to build cards, payments, and credit solutions on top of the Bankable core virtual account offering with minimal additional integration effort. Financed by an extensive network of investors, Bankable’s clients can start offering fully automated credit to their end-customers without the need of a balance sheet of their own.

Arex Markets’ Series A backers, including LocalGlobe, Lifeline Ventures and Mosaic Ventures, will remain shareholders in the combined business.

“Bankable and Arex share the same mission: to offer embedded financial services across Europe to fintechs, established businesses and brands. Together with Bankable, we offer both a formidable infrastructure powered by the best technology that gives access to banking-related services that are modular and easy to integrate, and the deepest product breadth in the Bank-as-a-Service European market, covering accounts, cards and credit." - Airto Vienola, CEO, Arex Markets
“Thanks to our complementary assets and strong alignment of our teams, we can attract premium clients seeking to develop a uniform pan-European banking offer leveraging our best-in-class API platform including credit. This partnership clearly sets us up with the richest Bank-as-a-Service offer for premium clients with clear multi-country ambitions.” - Eric Mouilleron, CEO and Founder, Bankable
