As a result of this agreement, Symitar’s customers are able to immediately integrate BIG’s voice banking technology with their existing core systems. “We at Symitar are constantly looking for opportunities to bring the latest cutting-edge technologies to our customers,” said Ed Miller, Symitar’s Senior Director of Episys® Operations. “That’s why we’re so pleased to work with BIG to make this Alexa solution broadly available.” 

Voice banking has firmly established itself as one of the most promising and highly demanded technologies capable of fueling customer growth and retention. At the recent Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, analysts noted that voice services are now being built into nearly all applications across the Internet of Things. BIG’s agreement with Symitar positions credit unions to participate in these breakthroughs in a meaningful way, rather than sitting on the sidelines as the large banks reap early rewards.

BIG has built Alexa Voice Service capabilities into its FIVE (Financial Interactive Voice Exchange) platform. By centralizing many common commands on the FIVE platform, these features can more easily be extended to subsequent products. Amazon Echo is the first of several devices BIG plans to support - development of similar capabilities for Google Home is already well underway.

“Chat is the new browser - whether by voice or typing,” according to BIG’s CEO and Co-founder John Best. “We want to make sure credit unions are able to participate in this trend and deliver to their members the services they want.”

Separately, BIG previously reached agreement with several credit unions to deliver Amazon voice banking services via the FIVE platform, including Suncoast Credit Union in Tampa, Florida.
