TBC Uzbekistan, the leading digital banking ecosystem in Central Asia and part of London-listed TBC Bank Group, continues to build out its proprietary AI infrastructure with the launch of AI assistant Lola inside the TBC Bank mobile app.

Lola, which was soft launched in Q4 2025 and is now being gradually rolled out to all users, represents a step change in how people interact with their bank, functioning as a private banker in your pocket that brings conversational and relationship banking to a digital interface. Lola will initially provide instant answers to the most frequently asked customer queries, from app navigation to product guidance, with seamless escalation to a human specialist when required.

This launch lays the foundation for the further development of intelligent financial services. Looking ahead, TBC Uzbekistan plans to expand Lola's capabilities — in the near term, she will be able to provide customers with information on their active loans, including outstanding balances, upcoming payments, and repayment schedules. In time, Lola will evolve into a fully-fledged financial assistant, capable of supporting customers with income and expense analysis, budget management, and payments.

Nika Kurdiani, CEO of TBC Uzbekistan: "We are investing heavily in our proprietary AI technology and infrastructure, embarking on one of Central Asia’s most ambitious projects to date. Our work in developing locally tailored LLMs and Speech Tech underscores our position as the leading innovator across Uzbekistan’s banking sector, and with the launch of Lola, we are now pioneering an AI-native customer experience. By the end of 2026, we predict that AI will be able to independently resolve up to 30% of customer enquiries, allowing us to continue our rapid growth while improving the customer experience.”

Lola runs on TBC Uzbekistan's proprietary infrastructure. To train its models, the ecosystem has deployed one of the largest GPU clusters in the country, maintaining full control over the technology's development and ensuring the highest standards of data security in compliance with regulatory requirements.

The assistant communicates in text in both Uzbek and Russian, adapting to the user's language preference. Its development is underpinned by voice technology built in-house at TBC Uzbekistan: an ML model transcribes thousands of call centre interactions in real time, and AI analyses this data to help the team proactively expand Lola's knowledge base. In the near future, TBC Uzbekistan also intends to add voice functionality, which has already been successfully deployed across other parts of its ecosystem.
