FreeAgent, the award-winning online accounting software provider, has agreed a new partnership with one of London’s earliest cloud-adopting accountancy firms to help prepare clients for Making Tax Digital (MTD).

Under the deal, Rodliffe Accounting is migrating its contractor clients onto the FreeAgent platform in order to ensure they are best-prepared for the first stage of Making Tax Digital (MTD) - the government’s plan to fully digitise tax reporting for UK businesses.

From next April, all businesses that are already registered for VAT - and those that will be earning over the VAT threshold of £85,000 per year - will have to keep digital records and provide regular tax updates to HMRC. FreeAgent is currently working on the pilot scheme for MTD and has been named as one of the software suppliers that will be supporting the legislation, meaning that Rodliffe clients will be able to manage the transition to the digital tax filing system effortlessly.
