2022 has been a year of celebration and success at Clausematch. The year marked 10 years in business for our company, a milestone in such a young and growing industry. In 2022, Clausematch was instrumental in growth in compliance and policy management in numerous highly-regulated businesses across financial services and beyond. Most recently, Clausematch was named to RegTech Analyst’s 2023 RegTech100 list. As the end of the year approaches, we are taking stock in some key moments of 2022.

Major Milestone

In September 2022, Clausematch and its employees celebrated our 10-year anniversary. Starting from a small company in London with just a handful of employees with a big dream to now a team of 70+ colleagues working across multiple continents and focuses, Clausematch has experienced its fair share of setbacks and growth. The future has never looked brighter for the next 10 years.

Client Success

Despite worries of a major global economic crisis, compliance professionals remained interested in Clausematch’s platform to help them edit, manage, and share their policies. In 2022, companies such as Griffin, Currencycloud, ZEDRA, First Central, and most recently, Arbuthnot Latham among others, partnered with Clausematch to streamline policy and compliance documents and execute organization. More regulated businesses continue to open dialogue with Clausematch and adopt our platform, with additional clients to be announced in the coming year.

Awards

Clausematch continues to be recognized as an award-winning regtech company. The US FinTech Awards selected Clausematch as winner of RegTech of the Year in 2022. This was a huge honour for the Clausematch team, as it continues to show our unique solution to the American market. Also in 2022, Business Cloud judges and readers chose Clausematch to top the RegTech50 list. Additionally, the team was recognized by IBS Intelligence for its NeoChallenger Bank Award and was listed on FinTech Global’s AIFinTech100 list. Most recently, Clausematch was listed among the top 100 RegTech companies for 2023 by RegTech Analyst, as well as shortlisted for the 2023 FS Tech Awards.

Research

Because we are familiar with a variety of policies, regulations, and procedures, the topic of environmental, social, governance (ESG) has been on our radar for a while. In 2022, Clausematch published a new guide for companies on how to integrate ESG into their compliance strategy. We examined how leading organizations are already leveraging regtech to meet ESG obligations, and shared what to consider as companies prepare for ESG.

Other Noteworthy Company News

Venture capitalists continue to see potential and promise in Clausematch’s product; in June, we raised $10.8 million in strategic funding, with financial support from Lytical Ventures, Flashpoint VC, and the Sony Innovation Fund. The new financing has been used to increase the company’s commercial footprint in the US and invest in our product, technology, and data science teams. 

Representatives from those VC firms joined Clausematch to co-host a free SaaS Lounge virtual discussion on regtech investment and trends in November. The company’s product vision, major milestones, and future product development were highlighted as well. 180+ attendees joined the online event while 700+ watched the recording on Clausematch’s LinkedIn Live. Through the discussion, panelists concluded that regtech investment goes against recession trends as it was not hyped beforehand, and consequently it does not lose attractiveness. This message continued to attract attention from the press and on social media, where publications also amplified that regtech investment is strong and will likely remain that way in 2023.

In addition to celebrating an anniversary, new clients, and awards in 2022, Clausematch team members gave back to the community through the Dragon Boat Race event organized by WaterAid UK and Canary Wharf Group in July. The event raised money for people in need of water based on the Chinese tradition from over 2,000 years ago. 

Also in 2022, Clausematch became members of the Investment Association, gaining access to investment managers and opportunities to share our product. We also became members of the Canadian RegTech Association to further grow awareness of the platform in Canada, and began as members of the InsurTech UK Association to amplify our message to insurance companies.

Looking Ahead to 2023

As we reflect on the successes of 2022, we also take time to plan ahead for 2023. Stay tuned for further product updates, releases, and an announcement of our new tech hub in Europe!
