Mobeewave, a pioneer in contactless mobile card payment acceptance, and Elavon, a leading global payments provider, have partnered to develop a first-of-its-kind digital merchant onboarding process for the newly-launched Samsung Point-of-Sale (POS)app.

SamsungPOS enables micro and small businesses in Canada to accept physical contactless payments simply by tapping a card onto the back of their NFC-enabled mobile device – without the need for dongles, card readers or additional hardware.

Through their strategic partnership, Mobeewave and Elavon have developed a unique onboarding process enabling merchants to electronically register for an account and start processing in under ten minutes – all from within the app. Elavon also provide the payment rails for Samsung POS that allow merchants to accept payments anytime, anywhere, and be paid instantly.

“We value point of sale solutions that help our customers improve their operations, which is why we are excited to partner with Mobeewave on this innovative digital onboarding process,” said Mia Huntington, SVP and general manager, Elavon Canada. “This partnership aligns with Elavon’s strategy to support small and medium-sized businesses by providing them with simple and effective ways to accept payments.”

“We’re the first to market a fully-digital onboarding experience that allows brick and mortar businesses to register and start getting paid in under ten minutes,”added Maxime de Nanclas, co-Founder, Mobeewave. “By removing the friction, complexity and cost associated with traditional point of sale solutions, we’re revolutionizing the market and driving meaningful change for micro and small businesses in Canada.”
