Qatar Innovation Week – A Powerful Synergy for Qatar’s Vision

For what can serve as a powerful technology enabler for the Qatar National Vision 2030, the country is all set to harness innovation narratives around future cutting edge technologies. Qatar Innovation Week will bring together regional and international industry experts at the Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl – Doha, on 25th and 26th of this month. The conference will centre on two separate co-located technology events that will revolutionize Qatar’s digital ecosystem which are World 5G Show (25th November) and World AI Show (26th November).

Qatar Innovation Week is designed with the dedicated goal of stimulating strategies among regional and global tech experts, academicians, C-level professionals from enterprises, investors, policymakers, startups and solution architects to catalyse the creation of AI and 5G-based solutions. Additionally, #QatarInnovationWeek will also aim to support the four interrelated pillars of sustainable development to transform the lives of citizens by harnessing technology and innovation in Qatar.

In an excellent opportunity to explore the potentials of 5G in Qatar, the inaugural edition of World 5G Show will debut in Doha on 25th November. Multinational telecommunications conglomerate Vodafone has extended their Strategic Partnership for World 5G Show where strategies will be discussed to support Qatar’s vision of building world-class Telecommunication infrastructure for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2022. #World5GShow will host top industry speakers discussing topics on 5G such as 5G use cases for enterprises, Monetization Strategies for 5G and FIFA 2022 – Technical Challenges & Solutions. Speakers include Diego Camberos, Chief Operating Officer at Vodafone Qatar; Fadi Nasser, General Manager ICT Omantel-Zain Group and Salma Mohamed Alsulaiti, Head of Standards & Next-Generation Technology at Communications Regulatory Authority, Qatar among other top speakers.

As Qatar makes strides to reinforce its AI research and development efforts, on 26th November, #WorldAIShow will attract leading Artificial Intelligence speakers including Dr Fethi Filali, Head of Technology Development & Applied Research at Qatar Mobility Innovations Center (QMIC); Hayfa Al-Abdulla, Innovation Director at Qatar Science and Technology Park; Raimund Hanauer, Director of Transport Planning at Qatar Rail and Adnan Albanna, Senior Consultant at Digital Transformation in Logistics and Supply Chain at Milaha, to name a few. Speakers will engage in powerful keynotes, tech talks, use cases, panel discussions and elevator pitches centring on key areas of discussion such as Assessing AI’s role in streamlining Government Administrations, The Role of AI & Big Data in disrupting public transport and How AI & 5G will transform the world - Use Cases & Opportunities for Business.

In a bid to attract the brightest minds from across the globe, World AI Show will also play host to the Startup World Cup Regionals that will provide a platform for 15+ startups to share their innovative ideas in front of global investors. There will be 30+ regional events across North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia, leading up to the Grand Finale in the US Silicon Valley, where the global champion will be awarded a US$ 1 million investment prize.
