Worldline [Euronext: WLN], the European leader in the payments and transactional services industry, will explore the future of electric vehicle (EV) open payments frameworks in its latest webinar, ‘Plugging in: easier payments for EV charging’. Taking place on Tuesday 13th April at 9:30am BST, the session will explore the new public payment solutions that will make secure and open payment solutions a reality for electric vehicles.

To support the widespread adoption of electric vehicles in the UK, there must be accelerated focus on improving accessibility and convenience of charging points to help ease range anxieties that currently exist as a barrier to entry for many drivers. In turn, as charging points become the norm, customers will expect to be able to pay for EV charging the same way that they do for fuel – through open payment solutions.

During the hour-long virtual session, speakers will discuss the considerations and benefits of payments for EV charging before exploring how emerging standards and technologies will benefit EV charging by enabling convenient and secure payments. Guests will also discuss charging options and collaboration with local authorities when it comes to fleet operations.

Venceslas Cartier, Head of Transportation & Smart Mobility Payment Solutions, GSV at Worldline and Anthony Wicks, Key Account Manager, Self-Service GSV – Parking & EVC at Worldline, will join the panel, including Ben Boutcher-West, Head of Mobility at AppyWay, and Oliver Craughan, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility, at DPD. Sara Sloman, Zero Emission Mobility, Energy and Infrastructure, at Foot Anstey LLP will chair the discussion.
